Job Summary

St. Michael’s School, a PK-8 Catholic School in South Sioux City, NE, is accepting applications for an Elementary Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.

The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment, encouraging student engagement and academic growth while supporting students socially-emotionally and spiritually. This role involves planning and implementing lessons aligned with curriculum standards, assessing student progress, and adapting teaching methods to meet students' diverse needs.

 

Duties

 Develop and implement engaging lesson plans in all academic areas.
 Assess student performance through standardized testing and provide feedback to students and parents.
 Support students with special educational needs by adapting lessons and providing individualized instruction.
 Collaborate with education administration to align teaching practices with school goals.
 Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe and respectful learning environment.
 Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.

 

Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree in Education or be able to obtain a valid Nebraska teaching certificate with the appropriate endorsement.
 Experience in lesson planning and classroom management is highly desirable.
 Knowledge of literacy education, math instruction, special education strategies, and education administration is a plus.
 Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
 A commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that meets the needs of all learners.
 Previous experience in a private school setting is advantageous but not required.
