Job Summary
St. Michael’s School, a PK-8 Catholic School in South Sioux City, NE, is accepting applications for an Elementary Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.
The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment, encouraging student engagement and academic growth while supporting students socially-emotionally and spiritually. This role involves planning and implementing lessons aligned with curriculum standards, assessing student progress, and adapting teaching methods to meet students' diverse needs.
Duties
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans in all academic areas.
Assess student performance through standardized testing and provide feedback to students and parents.
Support students with special educational needs by adapting lessons and providing individualized instruction.
Collaborate with education administration to align teaching practices with school goals.
Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe and respectful learning environment.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education or be able to obtain a valid Nebraska teaching certificate with the appropriate endorsement.
Experience in lesson planning and classroom management is highly desirable.
Knowledge of literacy education, math instruction, special education strategies, and education administration is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
A commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that meets the needs of all learners.
Previous experience in a private school setting is advantageous but not required.
